Marlow Moodle
Challenge
- Moodle, is a separate learning management system (LMS) set up for online courses, which the Marlow Rowing Club use to give training to their members.
- They wanted a single sign-on login to facilitate their members, when they log into the Marlow WordPress website, connecting straight to the training they needed to complete, hence connecting them directly to Moodle through wordpress.
Solution
Our main contribution was hosting, maintaining and setting up single sign-on (SSO) integration with the public facing WordPress site, using an existing WordPress plugin.
Results
Moodle Single Sign-On and Future Integration
The single sign-on allows Marlow members to access the Moodle courses without needing a separate login, as they are already signed up to the Marlow website, enabling the tracking of course completion and pass/fail results.
How would we improve this?
The current system lacks a direct feedback loop to CiviCRM, which would be a valuable next step to monitor and report on who has completed courses and identify expired certifications for safety-related actions. This has been confirmed that Moodle integration with CiviCRM is planned for the future but has not been implemented yet. Watch this space!
